Kaitatuya Yakinori, Gold Grade (10 full size sheets) 海苔（金）
Kaitatuya Yakinori are the roasted seaweed sheets present in almost every sushi meal and are most often used to make sushi rolls. Nori is actually a mosaic of various Porphyra algae that spread thinly on mesh sheets. Gold grade is the highest grade with its sheets being of the thickest and darkest variation, allowing for crisper, better tasting and better presented sushi.
Rolls should be eaten quickly after being made so that retains its exciting crispy texture. This is an easy way to identify low quality sushi establishments, where rolls may be prepared hours in advance leaving the nori to become soft. Combine with rice and Tobiko fish roe to make gunkan-maki.
If you have left over Nori after making rolls, break into small pieces and use as a garnish for other types of sushi.
