Grilled Freshwater Eel (Unagi Kabayaki) うなぎ丼 195g Fillet
Unagi Kabayaki is the term given to freshwater eel fillets dipped in a sweet rich soy sauce base then grilled. Freshwater eel is one of the original Edo style sushi ingredients and is considered an aphrodisiac by the Japanese.
The flavourful marinade accompanying the grilled eel makes this perfect for those who would like to explore traditional Japanese cuisine but are not quite ready for eating raw fish.
N.B unlike most of our fish, Kazari receives its Unagi Kabayaki pre-packaged.
All fish weights are given as ± 10% and should be consumed within two days of delivery. Please note that unlike traditional fishmongers, our prices are given as ready to eat skinned fillets that typically only make up 30-50% of a fishes weight.
The rich flavour of the sauce in which this eel is prepared makes this ideal for enjoying at the end of your sushi meal as nigiri or sashimi. All the hard work is done for you!
